I was backpacking in Vietnam for over a month and could not believe how diverse and beautiful the country is. Dalat was just another unbelievably magnificent hub for great food, crazy house and plenty of attractions.

Best things to see in Dalat.

1. The Majestic Crazy House

The first stops on your Dalat adventure should undoubtedly be the Crazy House, officially known as Hang Nga Guesthouse.

It has been designed by artist Dang Viet Nga, is a living work of art. Never seen anything like that in Asia.

As you walk through the twisting tunnels and uniquely shaped rooms, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a fantastical world. The surreal designs and playful colours create an incredible atmosphere.

2. Dat Lat Flower Park.

If you’re a nature lover, the Dat Lat Flower Park should be among the best things to see in Dalat.

The park showcases a colourful array of the most beautiful flowers in the region: orchids, roses, and tulips.

Dalat is often referred to as the “City of Flowers.”

3. Linh Phuoc Pagoda.

I know, you probably have enough pagodas while visiting Vietnam, but this one is going to amaze you.

The Linh Phuoc Pagoda – also known as a Ve Chai Pagoda- is built in mosaic style from colourful glass and glittering porcelain.

There is a huge bell hanging 38 meters above the ground – it is the heaviest bell in Vietnam weighting 8.5 tons.

4. Datanla Waterfall.

Adventure seekers should not miss the awe-inspiring Datanla Waterfall.

It is located about 5 kilometres from Dalat.

The waterfall is not only a fabulous idea for a day trip in nature but also one of the nicest things to see in Dalat. The cascading waters are amazing; it’s a fantastic spot for both relaxation and adventure. The stunning natural beauty of Datanla will leave you breathless.

5. Lang Biang Mountain.

For those craving adventure, a hike up Lang Biang Mountain offers breathtaking panoramic views that are worth every step.

Known as the highest peak in the region, the challenging ascent rewards you with views of the surrounding valleys and lakes.

Other things to see in Dalat.

  1. Elephant falls (depends on the season, ask if the waterfall is not dry).
  2. Pongour waterfall – beautiful, quite far away from Dalat, southwest way. Check during the dry season. When I was there almost no water in the fall.
  3. Lang Biang peak (north way) very nice mountain biking tours.
  4. Phuoc Hue – I really liked this small and simple Pagoda, it’s on the way from Dalat to Phuoc Pagoda.
