Trat is one of my favourite provinces in Thailand, with its natural landscape, unspoiled by massive tourism. One of the biggest attractions in the area is Ko Kood Island (Ko Kut) – extremely popular for diving, snorkeling and backpacking.
If you are planning to cross land border with Cambodia, you need to reach Trat. Trat Province, with 52 large and small Islands, offers delightful scenery and a number of tranquil hideouts for beach and nature-lovers. Trat is also the primary launching point for trips to the popular Koh Chang island.

Explore Trat on a mototbike.
Best way to explore the area is renting a motorbike. Go visit the nearest lake, enjoy local bars, streetmarkets and jungle scenery. The lake is lovely, however in the dry season the level of water may be extremely low. There’s lots of restaurants in the area, where you can taste some local cuisine.
