Just arrived in Sydney and craving for adventure? It’s known for its excellent swimming and surfing conditions.

Bondi beach is well monitored by lifeguards and beach guards, who keep things in order and protect swimmers from strong currents, especially on the south end of the beach.
- One of the most popular things to do in Bondi Beach is hit the waves and go surfing. Whether you’re pro or a beginner, there are plenty of surf schools and rental shops available around to help you get started. The beach is surfer’s paradise for number of reasons, it’s easily accessible by car, it’s a perfect environment for beginners and is fully monitored.

It probably gets a bit more crowded during weekends, but there is plenty of space in the upper grassy area where you can relax facing the ocean or find a perfect picnic spot for a leisurely day out.
There are many shops, trendy cafes to world-class restaurants near the beach. I tried some local seafood, it was fresh and delicious.
On the north end of the beach, you’ll find some nice beach houses with ocean view. There are also few natural swimming pools, safely secured from the ocean, making it perfect family corner.

Bondi Beach is family friendly.
Bondi Beach has plenty of family-friendly activities. The Bondi Pavilion is a community center that offers a range of activities for children, including art classes and theater performances. There’s also a playground on the beach, as well as a skate park for older kids.
Bondi Skatepark.
Bondi Skatepark is one of Australia’s biggest and best skateparks! It’s a great facility built back in 1991.
Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk.
If you prefer to stay on land, there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy.
The coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee offers magnificent views of the ocean and the cliffs. Rock formations are pretty amazing too. You might even spot some wildlife along the way such as dolphins.
Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk is a stunning 6 km coastal trail that will lead you south direction it will take you to neighbourhood beaches – Tamarama Beach and Bronte Beach.
Icebergs Club in Bondi Beach Sydney.
South side of the beach is quieter/or was at the time I was there in March/ due to strong currents and less people would be allowed in the water. On this side you will also find convenient changing and toilet facilities.
One of the most interesting places to go for a refreshing drink is Icebergs Club. Its iconic building overlooks the ocean with a swimming pool that’s open to the public. The pool is filled with saltwater straight from the ocean, so you can swim with a view of the waves crashing against the rocks below.
Bondi to Bonte Ocean Swim.
Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim is an annual event that attracts swimmers from all over the world.
The 2.4-kilometer swim takes place in the open ocean, with waves and currents adding an extra element of difficulty.
How to get to Bondi Beach Sydney?
There are several public buses stopping along the beach, including the main entrance – Bondi Pavilion. Usually it is bus no 333 or 380. Bus 33 runs every 6 minutes from Mon to Fri so don’t worry if it doesn’t stop when overloaded, the next one will be right behind it.
Get Sydney card (tap in/tap off) for public transport, it’s the only way to use public buses and subway.

What I really liked about Bondi Beach Sydney, is the huge diversity of healthy breakfasts and coffee with an ocean view. There are so many delicious coffee places around – at the entry to the beach and on both ends. Few top rated are:

How to watch Sydney highlights?
