I decided to travel by local bus from Trang to Pakmeng Beach, near Hat Chaoma National Park. I could not find too much information on internet so I just picked a place on a map and asked locals for a bus. The bus stop was small and there was just one couple – the American girl with Thai boy.

They were both living and teaching in Thailand. The girl was great, she told me everything about the place I was planing to go. The whole Hat Chaoma Park was beautiful, a non-touristic coastal place with an amazing view of surrounding islands. She said that we will need to pay for the entrance to get to the Park.

There was a barrier in the middle of our road with check point. I could not understand what they were talking about with the guard but he seamed a little anxious that we want to enter the area. The girl shown him a confirmation of a hostel reservation and probably said I’m with them. After all she asked me how do I plan to go back. I had no idea at that time how to get back to Trang. She said the only way is to reach nearest town and take a bus to Trang.

Pakmeng Beach

It’s a beautiful, wide, wild beach. The coastline was full of Tsunami road signs. I understood it from the moment I stepped on the beach. The coast was full of human accessories thrown away by the sea. I have no idea when that could have happen. There was absolutely nobody in the horizon. I suppose you could walk south few kilometers along the beach.

The whole beach was covered by millions of small holes. I needed to stop moving to find out what was happening over there. It was a hatching time for millions of small crabs. When I was kneeling they were coming out on a surface, disappearing immediately when I moved. The beach was also full of amazing orange sea shells. I walked along the beach for another few hours, exploring every scenery of it, especially the view of Ko Muk island.

I reach the town about 5 pm. looking to get a bus to Trang. There was no time schedule so I asked the locals, who absolutely denied there’s any bus running after 4 pm. There was no chance I stayed in this small town. Although nobody spoke English there I explained I need to get to Trang today. They were ignoring me at the beginning but after 15 minutes my begging they tried to stop a private car which could give me a ride to Trang. I was very lucky to find one old nice driver, who took me directly to my hostel, asking 10 people in Trang to find it’s location. Although he didn’t speak even one word in English he called his daughter so she could speak to me during this long drive. We had about 35 kilometers to Trang. Another amazing unplanned adventure on my trail.
